For some Property Management System (PMS) connections, Impala reads the information required by the relevant hardware or software provider using Impala's Robotic Process Automation.
To get started with this method, you first need to create a user within your PMS, much like you'd create a user for a Front Desk Manager. Impala will then ask you to submit these credentials to us securely.
The Impala Robotic Process Automation works by emulating the regular user behaviour that your integration requires. For example, logging into your PMS and triggering a search to read out the required booking and guest information.
When you create a separate user for the Impala integration, you can audit this behaviour much like you would a regular employee at your hotel. If, for instance, the software partner you integrate with through Impala changes a booking, you'll see Impala as the user who last changed the booking.
Impala has modelled our service and data handling practices to adhere to the European Union Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This means, among other policies, that we encrypt the data in transit and at rest. We also apply data minimisation and purpose limitation to the data we process, store and make available to the software or hardware you work with. Impala’s servers are hosted in Dublin and Frankfurt exclusively.
